Invisalign First

At our Delta children's dental clinic, our pediatric dentists are proud to offer Invisalign® First, a new range of Invisalign orthodontic aligners just for children.

What is Invisalign First?

Invisalign First aligners are clear, removable orthodontic aligners that are designed specifically for kids. Each set of aligners gently straightens children's teeth as they grow in.

Invisalign First can be used to correct a number of common orthodontic issues such as arch development and expansion issues, tooth spacing irregularities, crowding, and protrusions. In general, Invisalign First can also help improve the overall appearance of the smile.

Invisalign First's clear aligners guide children's teeth into the correct positions as during the eruption process, which may lessen or eliminate the need for more extensive or invasive orthodontic treatment as they get older.

How does Invisalign First work?

Via a process called dental arch expansion, Invisalign First expands and contours your child’s jawline. Dental arch expansion involves applying pressure to the teeth over an extended period of time to increase the width of the dental arch.

The first step towards Invisalign First treatment is a consultation with your child's dentist at our office. The dentist will determine whether your child is a good candidate for Invisalign First.

If so, the next step will be for the dentist to take pictures, x-rays, and impressions of your child’s mouth, teeth and jaws. These images and impressions will be sent to the Invisalign lab where the custom Invisalign First aligner will be made for your child.

As soon as your child's custom aligner is ready, your child will attend an appointment at our office to fit the aligner to their smile.

Throughout treatment, the device will gently guide your child’s teeth into their desired positions. Depending on the nature of your child’s misalignment, either a pair of aligners (for both the upper and lower jaw) or just one aligner will be required.
